Project #5: Wicker Chair Re-Do

I sat on the front porch tonight enjoying raspberry crisp, made with berries from my own backyard.  As I gazed at my hanging fuchsia basket and the ginkgo tree, I couldn't help but think that dessert is so much more decadent when it is made with something you harvested yourself.  It was the perfect way to wrap up such a lovely weekend.  I spent Friday evening on a dinner date with Rob, Saturday afternoon at a flea market in Estacada with a good friend, and today shopping for an upcoming party, cooking, baking, and going on a family walk around the neighborhood.

Somewhere in there, I fit in a couple of projects too.  The first is a flea market find.  I got these two wicker chairs for 30 bucks.  They were priced at 20 bucks a pop, but I bargained them down!  That's new to me.

They're cute and comfy, but definitely needed a new paint job.  After four bottles of spray paint and re-arranging the deck furniture a few times, this is what we came up with.

They're perhaps a little too bold, but I think we're okay with them.  I'll be back with another spray painting project later this week!
